Five months after Pascaline Lepeltier 's double victory (Best Craftsman of France, Best Sommelier of France), the national sommelier industry has recorded another female success. Charlotte Guyot has won the title of Best Young Sommelier of France in Champagne.
For the latest edition of the Best Young Sommelier in France competition, associated with the name of the Duval-Leroy champagne house, Carol Duval-Leroy is smiling. After five editions marked by male successes, victory, this Monday, April 8, went to a young woman, Charlotte Guyot. At 24 years old and to her greatest surprise, the one who admitted to having "as much self-confidence as an oyster!" won at the end of a final that also brought together Victoire Helly d'Angelin (La table d'Olivier Nasti in Kaysersberg), Adrien Cascio (Lalique – Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey in Bommes) and Aymeric Pollenne (Alteora restaurant in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou)...
Charlotte Guyot wins the Duval-Leroy Trophy for Best Young Sommelier in France
By winning the title of Best Young Sommelier in France (under 26 at the time of the final), Charlotte Guyot, who has adopted Lyon as her home, became the fourth sommelier to win this event in 32 competitions. Above all, she won despite being an apprentice less than a year ago, dividing her training between the CFA at the François-Rabelais high school in Dardilly and the two-Michelin-starred restaurant La Mère Brazier.
